Definition of multi-blade saw blades

Multi-rip saw blades are generally used for wood processing, such as cedar, poplar, pine, eucalyptus, imported wood, and miscellaneous wood, and are widely used in log processing, keel processing, and furniture manufacturing. Simple multi-rip saws typically have 3-6 blades, while larger ones can have 40 or more, significantly improving worker efficiency. Multi-rip saw blades usually have a certain number of heat dissipation holes and thermal expansion slots, or multiple scrapers, to achieve better heat dissipation and smoother chip removal.

Theoretically, we hope the saw blade is as thin as possible, as the saw kerf is a form of consumption. The material of the alloy saw blade substrate and the manufacturing process determine the thickness of the saw blade. If the thickness is too thin, the saw blade is prone to shaking during operation, affecting the cutting effect. Taking Ruish multi-rip saw blades as an example, blades with a diameter of 110-150MM can be made with a thickness of 1.2-1.4MM, while those with a diameter of 205-230MM have a thickness of about 1.6-1.8MM, suitable only for cutting low-density softwood. When choosing the saw blade thickness, consider the stability of the saw blade operation and the material being cut. To reduce consumption, some companies have started producing single-sided or double-sided convex multi-rip saw blades, which are thicker on both sides of the center hole and thinner on the inside of the alloy, then welded with teeth. This ensures cutting thickness while saving material, such as the 230MM diameter, 1.3MM thick saw blade designed by Ruish specifically for keel manufacturers, with a cutting depth of no more than 40MM. Some equipment is designed with direct trimming capabilities and requires the installation of multi-rip trimming saws. Trimming saw blades are generally thicker to ensure the smoothness of the edge cut.

After welding and grinding, multi-rip saw blades are generally coated, which is said to extend their service life. However, the main purpose is to improve the appearance of the saw blade, especially for multi-rip saw blades with scrapers. The welding level at the scraper is very obvious, so a coating is applied for aesthetics.
